How to Book

Five things every first-timer learns the hard way.

  1. 01

    Book fall 4–6 months out.

October weekends fill faster than anything in Ohio.

  2. 02

    Stay midweek.

Sunday–Wednesday is dramatically cheaper and quieter on the trails.

  3. 03

    Two-night minimums are standard.

Most cabins won't take a single night, especially on weekends.

  4. 04

    Check distance to trails.

"Hocking Hills" cabins span 30 miles. Aim for within 15 minutes of Old Man's Cave.

  5. 05

Hot tub or no hot tub.

It's a real question. Filter for it — most listings call it out.

Now the important question: where to eat?

Brisket smoked 17 hours, fine dining in a log cabin, and the best coffee within 60 miles.
